What is SoCal Nature Kids?

We provide educational materials for Southern California families to study local nature in a hands-on, fun way! Our 3-part family science curriculum — Land, Water, Sky — makes a great full, stand-alone Science curriculum, or can be used to supplement an existing science curriculum.

Families who use SoCal Nature Kids love that each lesson contains local family field trip location recommendations, delightful children’s books, hands-on projects, nature journaling, learning about a local animal, and local nature walk ideas. They also appreciate that our lessons are flexible and user-friendly for homeschool parents!

Are SoCal Nature Kids materials…

• consumable? Yes. All our materials are consumable. Our printed products contain pages for students to complete. (However, if you have multiple students in one family, you can print additional pages for extra children — you only need to buy one copy per family.)

• secular? Yes, our materials are secular and contain no religious content.

• educational? Yes, our materials are standards-aligned to cover all Next Generation Science Standards for TK - 5th grade, and also meet some Social Studies standards.

Do you provide classes, live instruction, or in-person events?

No, SoCal Nature Kids only provides products/materials. We are a product vendor, not a service vendor.

Will you become a vendor for my charter school?

We are happy to become a product vendor with your charter school. Usually, it works best if a parent or teacher recommends SoCal Nature Kids to your supervising teacher or to your school’s vendor team.
